Central Elementary School Enters Program Improvement

In October of 2010 Central Elementary School entered into Program Improvement status.  The reason for this identification is that Central Elementary School  did not achieve AYP for two consecutive years (2008/09 and 2009/10). The AYP area(s) that caused the identification are English Language Arts and Mathematics. Two hundred and seventy seven (277) students fell under the category of below basic/far below basic and/or socio-economically disadvantaged and were therefore eligible for the Federal Title I program.  These students were offered the option of transferring to another school in our district with a higher API or a school in another district with a higher API.  No student (0 students)  enrolled in Central Elementary School opted to transfer under Open Enrollment.  To view the letters which were sent home you may follow the links provided.
