Food Service acknowledges that schools have a responsibility to promote family health and provide a strong foundation for children's future health and well being. To reinforce the districts nutrition education program, foods available on school premises shall be:
- Carefully selected so as to contribute to students nutritional well being and the prevention of disease.
- Prepared in ways which will appeal to students, retain nutritive quality, and foster lifelong helpful eating habits.
- Served in age appropriate quantities and at reasonable prices.

Central School District Food Service operations are administered through the United States Department of Agriculture, the California Department of Education, and the Board of Trustees. The Governing Board recognizes that students need adequate, nourishing food in order to grow, learn, and maintain good health.
